Keep Or Sell?

We picked up a 99 audi a4 1.8t Auto with 117k miles with a deal i couldnt pass up.. Really great sounding engine, TB done about 1 week ago! It needs brakes all around along with rotors and sway bar links. Other than that exterior looks awesome! Im 16 right now and i was in the market for a b5 anyway but i was in the market for a stick. So anyway we got it for real cheap and we could sell and make some money but then idk if ill find something in that price range in the same condition. Keep or sell?

ill buy anything for the right price. This audi cost me 1000, manheim auction fees, towing, buyer fees, its like 1475, valves, patch a small hole in the head,1 piston, nice little clean up, came out to total of 1975. So i finished this baby for 2k. Ill tear this up a little and then go for a 6 speed once i get comfortable with driving. I could have gotten a 04 a4 off of manheim with a broken TB for 2400, which means valves and all the crap gotta go again.,

keep the car. being 16 im sure you have limited seat time behind the wheel of an audi or any car. at that winters coming in a few months and an automatic would be the best way to learn how to drive an audi in inclament weather. also any mods will swap over so get started young buck!!

How would an automatic be better in the snow? I'd much rather be driving a manual in the snow, you have so much more control...

dude he's 16. i dont wanna be anywhere near a new driver. but why destroy a car you really want. your 1st car is a beat box. beat the hell out of it and when your ready and confident driver get your dream car or whatever you really want. he will be better off.

I mean, I started driving my B5 at 16 and through Jersey winters. I've been through 3 Jersey winters with it and I still have her hahaha. And she's a 5spd. Maybe that's just me though, I never drove an auto.

good point jeff... and a good example.

i would atleast start moding this 1 with an exhaust and other small goodies that will change over until you get your manual trans. that way if it takes you sometime to find what you want your ahead of the game.

-turbo and accessories (no downpipe theyre different)

etc etc etc

cool, cool thanks for the advice i guess. And chip was probably the first thing i was gonna do. Anyway, exhaust is too. Suspension is a tad bit out of my budget unless i do stock s4 suspension. Intake?
i didnt really research enough about it i know some intakes dont really do alot for our 1.8t the only thing i know is that people reccomend a cone intake. FMIC is also considerable.

Oh and btw i drive everyday, to work and back, its like a 11 mile trip one way, i dont drive the audi yet but i will soon once we get it on insurance.

lol, talk about meticulous! Our audi is maroon with a two tone inside, and the outside has some small scratches here and there, but i just got back from a few stores with $65 of chemicals/polishes/waxes etc to wetsand it and make it look like new =)

idk but i just cant see myself in something that looks like shit, and i know some people say get a beater this bs and that crash it do what ever you want with it, no i dont think i will. My goal is to make it look clean and keep it clean.

times have changed for you young bucks. my 1st car cost $400. it was a suzuki samari. all the cool audi's like the b5 1.8 was still brand new on the sales floor. you guys are lucky!!

Heres what you do and don't listen to anyone else cause I know all. Okay so all kidding aside if you got a sick deal on it just keep it. Mod it and learn what each mod does and how much it has an effect on the power/look of the car w/e you maybe doing. Just take it easy learn how the car operates being a Turbo setup and you'll have a blast, at least I do! And don't listen to Downhill Red Audis are not chick cars lol

Ok so im definately in thouble if i dont start modding! Its slow, but that may be because of cam position sensor, also i think there is a boost leak so that too isnt good. Also if you saw my other post, it doesent go into tip, meaning it drives just the same with or without.

I'll try to fix as many problems as possible today.
