    Default clutch install

well ive had this chunk of metal sitting in my room for a few weeks now and ive finally decided it would be a good time to install it. i ordered the 240mm clutchmaster fx300 kit from mike at ringer racing. ordering from mike was amazing, he helped me with every question i had and helped get me the right kit for me, thanks again mike. well ill be starting the dissassembly tomorrow afternoon and hopefulyl will be done friday afternoon/night. ill be taking tons of pics and will do a write up if anybody wants. just wondering if anybody knows the torque specs for the flywheel and pressure plate bolts and then for the housing. cant wait to actually launch this baby after its broken in

justin i got a bunch of pics. ill do a write up later.

i ran into some problems with some of the bolts. after being in there so long a few were extremely hard coming out. i actually stripped two bolts on the pressure plate and took quite a whle getting them out. im hoping to have the trans back in sometime tonight and take her out for a spin. updates later

Just make sure to put some miles on that clutch before you launch it, just drive it hard before doing that.

yea ill be taking it easy for a couple weeks, you said like 500 miles right?

well everything is back together. took a lil longer than expected but i guess i cant complain for doing it on my back. the trans took some patience getting it in but other than that it went pretty smooth.

first impressions are it grabs much harder than stock lol. pedal feel is slightly stiffer, not sure if that will loosen up during break in. looking forward to putting some miles on and getting a better review on it.

Yeah you want to put some heat cycles on that FX300. So either plenty of traffic driving or plenty of driving on the street. The FX300 can take up to 1500 miles to get thru the break-in period, but can be done in a shorter time if you do short WOT runs in high gear at low rpms. Just have to make sure the clutch does not slip too much.

Most people just do normal driving for a good 1200-1500 miles to break it in.
