    Thumbs up "J-Line Jon's" 2000 Audi A4

I was asked to put up a thread about the build, so here it is.

    The specs:
    2000 a4 1.8t
    Bored & stroked 2.0L
    83mm JE Pistons
    144mm Corrillo Rods
    ABA 2.0L Crank
    Full-Race Tubular Manifold
    Full-Race 3" Down Pipe
    Garrett GT3076r Turbo
Siemens 630cc injectors (may need bigger)
    MRC Tune
    Wolbro Fuel Pump
    Tial 44mm WG
QTP Electronic Dump Valve off DP
    Labonte Dual-Nozzle W/M kit
    Euro-Spec Cams
    Dahlback Springs & Vavles
    034 mounts
    AASCO Aluminum LWFW
Southbend Stg 5 clutch w/ sprung hub
    Synapse BOV
ER Comp FMIC w/ black anodized piping & polished core
    KW Variant 3 Coilovers
Hotchkis front & rear sway bars
    J-Line SDM step lip wheels
    Nitto NeoGen Tires
    Reiger RS4 front
    Valeo E-codes (not pictured)
    DDM 6000K 55w HID
EuroGear CF hood, with silver vinyl
    034 coil cover
    LLTek strut tower
    Black Roof & Mirror caps
    shaved rear bumper
    Hofele Side skirts
    '96 euro trunk lid
    avic D3
    B&M SS
    PLX Devices Wide Band
    blah
    blah
    blah

The car was basically stock when I bought it.

First I did a KO4 upgrade, and after a year I got sick of it and moved on. built it, broke the head...built it again, broke the crank...built it again, it should be good for a while...

    Some parts:

As it sat at H2O '08 (no coils yet):

The crank gear backed off on the way home from H2O '09:

As it sits now (I need a professional photo shoot):

hope everyone likes it, feel free to ask questions, I'll post more pics as they come. Oh and if you buy Sam Dobbins VW/Audi calender, you'll see my car on August.

Ouch, how much damaged did the crank bearing cause? I see it did a number on the valves... I guess it was a good incentive for you to build the motor

oh, the motor was already built, that was afterward. not sure what you're asking about the crank bearing though, the bearings themselves were fine, the gear coming off cuased it to jump timing and wack the valves.

yeah, I've definitely put a lot of blood and sweat into this car. I appreciate the feedback guys, if you've got questions about anything let me know. I'll be getting the final tune this winter, hoping to get close to 450awhp but I think I may max out my injectors before I hit that mark.

Sorry, i guess my question didn't make to much sense after i re-read it. What I meant was how much damage occured as a result of the gear coming off ?

There is no voting in this thread (but I do agree, its all a matter of money)

The obvious was the valve impact, but while it was coming loose it damaged the face of the crank and sheared the key-way on the gear.

Everyone I've talked to says the K04 isn't worth it to just save up the extra couple hundred and get the elim because you spend too much money on a k04 for not enough of a gain.

KO4's are fun and good daily drives. But like me with a ko4 you'll def want more power, but that all come comes with other expenses too.
if you go ko4 you can always sell the turbo, injectors etc, to make some of your money back in the cost of a BT. Just keep that in mind.
    I'm looking for a GT2871r elim, 550cc injectors, and REVO stage 3 file. S O O N!

I'm waiting for my final tune, should be in the next few months. It'll be a dyno tune so I'll get the numbers then, no point in spending money on it now.

I would say go for it to satisfy your craving for now, only because I was able to sell off all of my parts for nearly what I paid for them. But if your looking for something to keep you satisfied for a while I'd go bigger, as big as you can afford considering everything you'll need to pay for. Remember when you get past a certain power point you'll need internals and that bumps up your cost quite a bit.

Thanks, yeah the valves weren't too happy, I'm glad nothing snapped and damaged a piston or cylinder wall.

Looks like I won't be getting my tune anytime soon, had a couple things come up and won't have any spare change for quite some time.

Put on a ported and polished large port AEB head, powdercoated a couple things, valeo ecodes, and maybe the tune this week, we'll see how things go.

Do you plan on running your car down the drag strip at Waterfest this year? If you do let me know and maybe I will make plans to fly out for the event.

Amazing, best year yet imo. I was told it got so big they had to stop letting in cars and make people park in the parking lot outside the event. Lots of nice cars too, it's going to be a good season!
