Default Never ending Build in Chicago

I'm really excited that I had to start a post of my build. There's a lot of things I want to do with my A4.
    1- Build a Stroker Engine
2 - Wideband Conversion - AEB to AWM
    3 - Car face lift

    Stroker Build -

So far what I have for my build

    ABA Forged Crank
    82.5 Supertech Pistons
    IE Rods - I-Beam
    Precision 6057 Turbo
    PAG Logger Manifold
    3in Downpipe
3" Custom Exhaust - (Doing some changes)
    38mm MVS Tial External Wastegate
    ATP Fuel Rail
    Fuel Pressure Gauge
    044 Fuel Pump
    Tial 50mm BOV
    R32 Throttle Body
    044 Fuel Pump
    ARP Head Studs Kit 058
    ARP Main Studs 058
    ARP Crank Bolt
    Crank Rear Seal
    Crank Gear Pulley
    ARP Fly Wheel Bolts
Head Gasket set-(Big bore head gasket)
    Main Bearing Caps Billet
    Main Bearings w/Thrust Washer Set
Rod Bearings +.001" ACL calico coated
    Fluidampr Harmonic Dampner
    Turbo Cover
    1000cc Fuel Injectors
    Eurodyne Software
    Supertech Valves
    Cat Cam Springs
    Titanium Retainers
    Purple Cat Cams
    Lifters
    Timing Belt Kit
    All Mounts
    FX400 Clutch
    Light Weight Steel Flywheel
    Cat Cam Gear
    TR1035 - Treadstone FMIC with 2 1/2 custom piping

I'm sure I have more thing that I need to buy.

    Wideband Conversion -

For the wideband conversion I bought all the wiring harness from a 01 AWM A4 - Once I start working on this I'll post more information on how everything goes with the conversion.

    Face lift -

    I painted my RS4 bumper
Want to change the lower part of the rear bumper
    Want to change the sideskits
    I'm also painting my Boser
    Changing rear shocks
Changing to S4 brakes (front and rear)

Here's pics of my car before I put my car in the garage

While I was waiting for my block and cylinder head come back from the shop, with my friend we took out the engine and installed it on my other A4.

Here's how my conversion is going... Lol

Here are some pics of the parts I bought

    IE I-Beam Rods

    Presicion 6057

I got my block at the machine shop and I'm gonna get a heater in the garage so I can continue working.

Thanks for checking out my build!

    Damn son, getcha some!

Quite the projects ya got going on there and it looks like you're really jumping in! I like seeing people doing this themselves. Plus I like getting to look at all the pics. So on that note, keep the details and pictures coming. What type of power will you be aiming for on it once everything is completed?

Yeah I really like working on my car and I've learned alot, but when I build my engine I'd like to have someone with more experence to work with me. Since I don't want to mess nothing up. I'm also nervous in doing the conversion because of all the wires going all over the place. But I already started, so it's kinda like when you're getting a tattoo once you start you can't go back. It's fun though.

Thanks! I'll defenitly try to update my post. Right now I'm looking to find a good deal on the wiring harness that goes under the carpet of a 01 AWM Audi A4 MT. Yesterday I got the pedal assembly, so I'm really happy for that.

I forgot to add a pic of my fmic

Thanks! Yeah my goal is to make it to 500hp. I did a little reseach to compare the 5857 and the 6057, and I thought you might be interested. The reason I did it was because I just found out that the 6057 is discontinued and I was wondering why? So here is what I found out.

    Spool Up (25psi, .63 A/R, 4bolt style)

    5857 - 3500 rpms
    6057 - 3900 rpms

These were on stock 2.4L heads

5857 has a 6 blade wheel compressor, 6057 has a 7 blade wheel. The six blade wheel will make LESS power per psi boost until around 30psi. The 5857 WILL MAKE MORE POWER than the 6057 from 35psi or so up to 40psi+, as the 6057 will max out around 35psi.

On pump gas boost levels, the 6057 will make more power (approx. 10whp per psi) than the 5857. Therefore, if you use Turbojon as a ball park, at 30psi the 6057 will put out around 500whp, the 5857 will turn somewhere around 460-480whp. At 35psi, I would say both turbos will be right around 650whp (ratings from pt are at 30psi) but the 5857 has head room for some kill mode 40psi+ and prob close to 700whp. The 6057 will be able to turn 680whp prob around 37psi but be really pushing things.

Wow 635ish hp!! That would be nice to get close to that, I'm going to research what setup that GLI has.

Thought so, it would be too much of a hassle / risk factor to powder coat the lower end.

Well at the time they had my block I thought they were going to power coat it, but they put everything together and when I went to see my block I noticed that my block wasn't painted. So the painted it with a special paint . The guy told me that the special paint is really good. The paint is heat resistant and he said that black is stronger than other color paints. Not sure if everything's true, but it just matched with what I wanted and to be honest the machine shop took forever to finish my block and cylinder head. I think they took about 4-5 months to finish everything. If you're going to do a rebuild make sure they paint the block first.

Quick update. As you can see it's a mess. A word of advice, instead of doing a conversion from an AEB to an AWM. Just buy a AWM, this is a lot of work. I just hope I can put everything back together again.

Right now I'm still working on finishing taking off the wiring of my car and also taking out the pedal assembly

This is the AWM wiring that I'm going to install

I sold my R32 Throttle Body and I bought a RS4 Throttle Body

I also bought some more parts, can't wait to get them []

Ok. I installed the timing belt just to see if I would be off because I heard some things about the CAT Cam Gear not lining up with an 058 engine, so seems that I'm good to go and everything lined up the way it suppose to.

I have a quick question and I was hoping someone can help me. I'm going to install this gear that connects to the IM shaft. Do I have to put grease? Are these the only 2 parts or am I missing something?

Well I have one, it's a cast one from Pag part. I really want to change it for a v-band, I'm gonna hold off and finish the project first and then later do some changes.

Thanks! Yeah I'm really happy I got a job, I was unemployed for a year and a half. So I'm finally seeing light after the tunnel. It's funny you say that, I might also change my turbo even though I didn't really use the one I have. The reason is because I might sponsor a turbo company, so we'll see.

So the turbo I’m going to sponsor is called Comp Turbo. This means that I’m selling my turbo (You can see it on the classified section) Lol! Then I’m buying one from them and once my build is done I’m going to dyno my car and see what numbers I get. If things go well we’re talking of me being a small distributor for them, since I’m only going to do this as a part time bases. I’m really excited. I believe in the produce and now it’s just proving it.

Sorry i didn't forget about you, but I was thinking. I'm not sure if I'm going to be using it since I'm going to use Eurodyne Maestro 7 and I'm going to delete a lot of sensors. But I'll check for you.

good deal on the Comp. I bought a 5857 from them and its a real nice turbo. the maching on it is perfect, check my thread for pics of it. the only issue i ran into with that turbo is all the fittings are NPT fittings instead of the normal AN, so you need to pick up NPT to AN adapters since most line kits are AN. I hope to have my car running within a week or two so I will then be able to give you first hand experience on htem. I know the supra guys have had great success running these turbos.

Aso for the crank sensor, I was able to finally get a part number and purchased one. It should be here tomorrow so I'll install it then. I'm basically doing a reverse swap than what your doing since I'm putting a 058 motor into AWM car. The person that originally built this motor did a AWM harness swap into his 2000 car. I got alot of great info from him about the swap. Your gonna wanna keep your AEB crank sensor because he was getting misfires up top rpm due using the AWM sensor. He swapped back to the original sensor, and it worked. If you need any help let me know

If you need any help let me know
Oh wow did see you had a comp turbo, I'm gonna checkout your post. Thanks for the tip, when I get the turbo I'll buy the adaptors you mentioned. I wish I can have my car ready. I still have some ways to go and not to mention the weather here in Chicago, I hope to be ready by april and I'll def let you know if I need any help. Thx!
