    Is this even possible? My friend is about to buy a rear-ended A8, so he can use the engine

    Sooo...

    Its up to the Jury, Is this possible :P

    I've seen the RS6 engine swap but never this...

    I'm building my very own BMW E36 with a v12 :P

    So he couldn't come out short :P

    Norwegians are crazy in the best sense of the word! (I have tons of family over there and theyre all nuts!) Post some more info about your E36

    More of your E36...but assuming your fabrication skills are top notch I don't see why it wouldnt be possible. You may, no most likely will have to somehow extend your front bumper.

    I mean, I guess it's possible but I can't imagine you'd have a firewall left or any turning ability... Obviously an exaggeration and I'd love to see it done.

    Front bumper stays The BMW has room for a I6 plus a fan, the V12 is about the length of that without the fan But the W12, NOO IDEA :P

    I hope to retain both the firewall and the oem location of both the gearbox an steering rack.

    Oh, i almost forgot. The A4 is a 1.8TQ so its a AWD. Just thinking... W12 AWD

    About as long as a 4 cylinder and narrower than the 4.2L V8. Block is aluminum.

    its still longer than the S4 timing-chain BHF 4.2 though...
