Stop being such a quitter. We'll get that thing running next weekend when I'm up in the area. I'll give you my DSMLink user info; you should be able to cross reference most of the info/tips etc on that board to at least get you in the ball park.

If you want to get the most out of your turbo ditch the MBC and invest in a EBC and hook up both ports on the WG.

what does hooking up both ports do? I thought the top one is left alone?

Both are used when running a EBC, the side one is only used when running a MBC or a N75 type valve that sends pressure at a set boost to open the WG.

When you run it as a dual port you run direct pressure to the side port and then a line from the EBC motor to the top port. The pressure going in the top port helps keep the valve closed as the pressure in the manifold increases. Just like how pressure on the top of a BPV keeps it closed. When the EBC reaches its boost setting it releases the pressure from the top port allowing the valve to open quickly and close quickly as the motor reapplies pressure.

When you run the WG just as a single port with a line to the side of the WG there is no pressure at all till the valve needs to be opened and there is no pressure helping to keep the valve closed as the manifold pressure increases. This is why there is such a big advantage running a EWG with a EBC. Chris on AZ found this out when he decided to change from a single port internal WG using a EBC to a external wg so he could use the dual port option with the EBC.

BigZip thinks you should sell this abomination. BigZip thinks you should take the money from the sale and buy this bicycle. BigZip thinks it will be safer and suit a4spoolin well.

That will do it. Got to make sure those bolts stay nice and tight. You can try going without a gasket, just have to make sure both surfaces are perfectly flat.

i checked the nuts quite often and they were tight. when i took the nuts off, the studs came out of the mani on the side that the gasket broke. so that's prob why. Im switching over to bolts because i can't get the turbo out if studs are there without taking the mount off.

well ordered a gasket from extremepsi but they wanted 50 bucks for overnight saturday shipping. i couldnt justify spending that much so ill have the gasket monday. also ordered a spring kit for the forge bov so i can fine tune it when i up the boost past the spring level in thats currently in it. goal is to have it running, inspected, and running a solid 25psi by next weekend. not too confident on the last two goals lol.

    me too i want updates.

Update on mine: new plugs Coilpacks on order, fixed the TIP to the turbo and removed the 3"maf now running the stock (like the tune was intended for) BUT.....misfires or stumbles at WOT. If i easy into 23psi it holds no problem?

Zip, are you actually inquiring about the build instead of just ripping on me?

Well I went to get inspected again today and failed haha. But I had a CEL come on on my way to the inspection and cleared so I failed for cat and oxygen heater. Changed some settings in Maestro, went for a quick drive and failed only for the cat. So I'm hoping I can put some more miles on the car and it will pass. I'm going back tomorrow so hopefully it works.

Been working on the car the past few nights. Changed an 02 sensor, fixed some oil leaks, and took apart the wastegate. Found out that the new gate was operating solely of the red spring (12psi) instead of both red and yellow for 16psi. Tried to reinstall 16psi of springs but the tension was too strong. I'm currently running only the 4psi spring but have the mbc turned 8psi haha so that was kind of a step back. I've actually seemed to better the running of the car the past few days, so hopefully she will be running solid very soon.

Did you order the fsi coils? Have you scanned for codes? Sounds like a possible vacuum leak, espcially if you were playing around with the tip. Im surprised the tune calls for the stock maf with that size turbo. Your still running revo right? If I were you I'd prob look into another tuning solution whether its Uni or Maestro.

Mike, nah not really. I haven't touched it much in the last month. I couldn't even look at the car for two weeks when my water pump belt slipped off and the car over heated. Ordered a new pulley and its running pretty good. Right now my main concern is getting it to pass inspection, then I'll look into fine tuning the maps and getting it to go fast. Right now its running 23psi with absolutely no timing but it still moves decent.
