    Default Stage 3 at 115k?

Am I crazy? I have a B5 S4 that currently has 115,000 miles on it and I was thinking about selling it until I found a killer deal on an AWE K04 kit, RS4 intercoolers, and fueling. My car has been taken care of extremely well, heres all the work done in the last 20,000 miles:

    New rear wheel bearings
    Valve Cover Gaskets
    Timing Chain Tensioer Gasket
    Rear Main Seal with Gasket
    RS4 Motor Mounts
    RS4 Clutch
    Aux Water Pump
    Intake Manifold Gaskets
    Rear Diff Half Shaft Seals
    All Control Arms Replaced
    Tie Rods Replaced
All new Brakes (Rotors and Pads)
    Brand New Tires (225/45/17)
    Brand new lock cylinder kit
    Spark Plugs
    Exhaust Gaskets
    Timing Belt
    tensioner pulley
    tensioner damper
    relay lever
    water pump
    thermostat

The car already has a few supporting mods like the RS4 Clutch and motors mounts, APR Downpipes, and suspension. The K03's only have about 20,000 miles on them and I can sell the APR ECU for a few dollars so the cost of the kit after selling those parts gets extremely low. What are your thoughts? Should I buy the kit or sell the car? It could make a good weekend gtg at my house to do the motor pull and such, I know Matt is already in for it!

I say do it. Buddy of mine's stage 3 had, if I remember correctly, around 180K. And this guy beats the piss out of everything he owns, more than anyone I've ever met and it held up just fine. Also this engine had unknown maintenance when he bought it. I think you'll be fine

All the parts should be in by the middle of the month and I will plan for the work to be done on February 6th. I will post up more once I receive all the parts.

dave coming from a the technical side of audi id do a little more testing before adding more power. keeping up on the maint. on an b5 s4 is super important which is good that it been done.
what id do is have the compression tests done and leak down tests performed on each cylinder. even though it been taken care of, it is an s4 and most likely has been driven a little harder. id also do a good oil flush and not the 1 in a can at autozone, same with the fuel system.
if you want this project to last just cover all of your bases first. if you have any questions or need a hand you know how to contact me.

Do it. Just watch for cost creep. I went stage 3 at 120k. I kick myself in the ass daily for not doing it sooner!

I hate to sound like a pessimist, but I think that doing this at 120k miles could be a bad idea. I'm not saying I'm against it, but I think you should check the car out a bit more. At 120k miles things may start to go badly. But yeah, get the car checked out by a mechanic and bring up the whole stage 3 idea and get their opinion. It's better to be safe than sorry, I'd hate to see it all go wrong. Just my two cents.

I went stage 3 at 110k, I just made sure to do all maintenance when the engine was out, I have 35k on it, regularly run 25psi at high altitude. My only question is, do you want a stage 3 car or do you want more? If you want more do it now, don't waste time and money on multiple builds.

Do it, it will be like a new car. You might want to get rid of the RS4 clutch though - it won't hold stage 3 power.

dave u should go with JHM rs6 kit and do a JHM clutch. u will get more power out of the rs6 turbos then out of awe k04 turbos. and u wont have to worry about having more porwe then the motor can handle. on a stock B5 motor the rods r the weak point. the rod r good for 500HP.
