StgI- chip or reflash.
StgII - catback
StgII+ - turboback
StgIII- - all of the above plus ko4 and hardware
StgIII - all of the above plus fueling and tune
StgIII+ - bigger and better.

Good to see someone new to the B5 S4 world asking this important question. Here's the breakdown
Stage 1 - body kit. This requres a MASSIVE spoiler, and ill fitting sideskirts/bumpers that rub and drag everytime one drives over a pebble. Stage 1+ is when said body kit is HORRIBLY paintmatched
Stage 2 - when you toon your car, but have only 1 working K03 (while the other is blown)
Stage 3 - when you add a superturbo.
