    Default Dyno-Day Database

Per Saki's suggestion I pieced together a new chart with the results of the Hudson Histronic's dyno-day and the recent Enhanced Street Performance dyno-day.

Hopefully we'll see some more big dyno day results so we can continue to compare. The more cars on the same rollers on the same day the better, since that should eliminate a lot of issues with calibration. Clearly the HH dyno reads much lower than the ESP, but even still the comparisons between the cars present are relevant.

If anyone has some good data, or corrections to the data I posted, post it up and I'll edit this initial post.

    Also reserved...thread stickied.

Anyway to make that image bigger? Hate to nitpick...I appreciate you're doing all the work while all I did was spout out an idea. Good stuff!

Also, the HH dyno day...I think those guys posted their uncorrected numbers, didn't they?

    1. dyno doesn't equal fast. It just equals how a machine estimates the power your car can put down. Some dyno high and perform as expected. Some dyno high and perform embarassingly poorly. Some dyno low but exceed expectations. It's a machine estimating power...but it's not performance.

    2. beemer had JHM intake manifold, Milltek catless downpipes (2.5"), custom 2.5" xpipe catback, JHM lightweight crank pulley, JHM intake spacers, JHM tune.

    3. joey had all of these mods for the most part, but had headers instead of stock headers + 2.5" downpipes. Theoretically his car should have been faster than beemercer's car. Of course they didn't race...they went to two seperate machines on two different days to have those machines estimate their cars' power. The results can not be compared for anything. The purpose of this thread is to compare the cars that were on the same dyno on the same day...and to get an idea of the relative dyno estimated gains between the different modlists.

real world trials have shown us that joey would be about dead equal with a modestly modded RS4 and beemer would be equal to, or a hair behind a stock RS4.
