    Here is my Current Setup:

    Catback:
Brand Make: Magnaflow full catback, stainless
    Resonatation: Resonated
    Exhaust Diameter: 2.5"
    Mid-Section Type: X-Pipe
    Transmission type: manual

    Downpipes:
    Brand Make: OEM
    Pre Cats: Gutted
    Main Cats: in place
    Exhaust Diameter: 2.175"

I couldnt be happier with it. Yes, its kind of too quiet but whatever, the exhaust system is still too new and shiny to think about hacking it up to take the resonators out. Other than being slightly too quiet, I love the sound. The big chrome tips look great too.

The fitment was perfect and everything was very well made. Zero complaints. Icing on the cake was that the whole thing was brand new, $660 shipped to my door.

I noticed a big difference when I gutted the cats and put the catback on. I know it sounds stupid but I know im not just falling for the butt-dyno placebo-effect thing. The engine definitely revs up faster, especially in the upper rpm ranges, but I hardly ever shift it/run it above 5k anyways.

Down the road I plan on custom fabricating my own mandrel-bent downpipes.

check engine light is on now, but the JHM tune is on the way to take care of that.

it's 2.25" so that's kind of a non-starter if you're interested in gaining performance. I mean why take off a restrictive OEM catback just to put another one on? Go 2.5", which has been shown time and time again to be optimal for a 7000rpm 4.2 V8.

someone named Mr. Corey has the downpipes + catback. He says it's fantastic...but then I think he got it for free as he was the test car/show car they used, so take his comments with a grain of salt.

Guess I never added my info here.

    Brand Make: Custom
    Resonation: Resonated (14")
    Exhaust Diameter: 2.5"
    Mid-Section: X-Type (magnaflow)
    Transmission Type: Manual

Mufflers are Borla and gutted precats. The drone is a little much for me. I drove for a few months non-res but couldn't handle it. I'm actually still not pleased with the drone, gonna keep trying to tweak stuff until I'm happy. Ordered a Summit X-pipe (only $39 so worth a shot) and next up I'm going to try some different mufflers.

you enter some code in the checkout and go through some process and you end up getting it for 640 shipped. To be honest I forget how to do the whole process though. Search the forum for 'performance peddler' and it will probably come up.

I just my piggies + Magnaflow installed: clicky

Same setup as dmaxben a few posts above, so here's the cut and paste:

    Catback:
Brand Make: Magnaflow full catback, stainless
    Resonatation: Resonated
    Exhaust Diameter: 2.5"
    Mid-Section Type: X-Pipe
    Transmission type: manual

Downpipes: (Robbed Saki's old piggies from his basement )
    Brand Make: OEM
    Pre Cats: Gutted
    Main Cats: in place
    Exhaust Diameter: 2.175"

Why Magnaflow? Because it's a full 2.5" exhaust costing about $740 shipped all in including taxes and duty to my door from performancepeddler.com to Canada. The coupon code is "audipipes".

Today was my first full day with the exhaust and I did a 400km road trip with my parents visiting from the UK. First impressions from the parents was "what the hell kind of family wagon is this?!?!?!"

    My first impressions:
    - Holy shit did this mod free up a load of low end torque. The car is truly effortless off the line compared to before. I am not yet tuned. Before: torque really kicked in at about 3-3.5k rpm. Now: much more linear torque from about 1.5k rpm and up.
    - Top end - pretty much same as before
    - Sound - very noticeable drone at about 1600 rpm, gone by 2000 rpm, sound like some sort of harmonics going on. Another droney peak at about 2800-3000 rpm but only if you really listen for it. Remember I'm in an Avant so it's 10x worse!
    - No doubt at all other RPMs, it sounds the absolute business in and out of the car. Not much louder than stock (from the inside) at the top end, actually a little bit more refined IMHO at the top end.

To be honest, I don't give a shit about how good it sounds, I just can't believe how the engine is set free by this sub $1000 mod and I'm not even tuned yet. In fact I'm a bit scared about getting tuned! The car is eating through the revs more quickly, as shown when I hit the rev limiter on my first on ramp. Cruising the autoroute was no worse than with stock, and I'm turning the AC off and driving with the windows open a lot more.

Here's a quick vid I took (the missus driving home), nothing exciting just 30s of daily driving:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCmKpMMF7Nk]YouTube - ‪Magnaflow exhaust B6 S4 Avant‬‏[/ame]

I'll update my post when I've got more exciting vids.

Just put the downpipes on this past weekend, sounds frosted flakes GREAATTTT....Jhm tune this week..... Question for you guys, my exhaust shop recomend that I add a Hi-Flow cat to my system because the extra airflow plus less back pressure is gonna damage my internals, bent valves, springs, etc etc Any truth to this?

burnt valves only happens if you have carbs and don't jet up a bit, the motor will adjust fuel to make sure everything is in check.

Thanks, Joey! That's actually where I grew up. It's about 45min north of where I live now in Hollywood. Pretty cool area, very rural and right next to the ocean.
