    Default Oil Leak Driver's side

Came over from Audizine. I have a 05 B6 S4 Avant with 52K miles that is leaking oil down the drivers side of the engine onto the transmission etc. The oil collected only on the drivers side of the belly pan and transmission pan, the cross member, and botton of transmission is coated as well. I got under the car and looked up at the botton of the head and there is oil dripping from that area. Could it be the valve cover gasket leaking and running down the head? Or the head gasket? The rear of the valve cover closest to the firewall appears to be dry. I know someone else posted sometihng similiar but never listed the root cause. Any help is much appreciated, I may change the VC's regardless.

Sounds like the valve cover gaskets. Run your finger along the bottom edge of the valve cover and see if there is build-up.

Drivers side valve cover gaskets solved the problem! Thanks for the tips in the DIY.
