Default Anyone in here from the ATL

I know there are regional forums, but it seems like this is the only forum that anyone posts on.

Im moving from close to Auburn to Atlanta for a promotion and I was wondering if anyone in here knows of any good shops besides the dealers. I get my yearly bonus this week, and I want to start making plans to do more work to the car, I would take it to APR, but I'll be moving away from the area, which is a bummer. I was just looking to see if anyone can recommend anything or if anyone even lives in the area

    Hey GeorgiaB7S4-

I have been located in Smyrna for the past few yrs. I do most of my own maintenance, but I did take my car to Checkpoint Auto (recommended by a friend). Its basically a two man shop- Ask for Beal Hardy. He did my valve cover gaskets & spark plugs for only $275. Jim Ellis Audi quoted me $550+ for just the valve covers gaskets.

As for performance mods and/or tuning advise specific to our car.... I don't think this is your place (although he worked on my buddies 944 track cars).

I recommend using the search function on this site, and do what most other do for tuning...spend the extra $$ on shipping from JHM (California). You wont be disappointed with any of their products.

Connor, did you ever do a write up on your timing chain rebuild? Curious to hear how it went, labor and parts costs, etc

hey, thanks for all the help! Im finally here in Atlanta, I decided on living in midtown so she doesnt get driven much. I do need to have it looked at though, shes developed a shutter in the left front caliper (boo) after putting new rotors and pads on. I think its a faulty pin or holder, but it will have to wait!
