how much for the EFR 7670? it flows almost the same as a 35R, but I'm sure is more efficient with the wheel thats in it, probably spools faster too...

Retail is $2350 for the T3 housing 7670.

Odd thing is that the 7060 is listed as $2500 retail for the T3 housing.

You can find more info here
There is a list of all the EFR turbos which have links to each one that will have more info about them, including flow maps.

Isn't much else out there yet on the EFR turbos since the release date isn't till Jan.

    Link to the 7064

    link to the 7670

They have some smaller turbos that come in a T25 housing and a T4 twin scroll housing. After talking to Geoff it seems like he is very interested in making a Twin scroll T4 manifold for the A4 1.8t, this way it will work for all of the EFR turbos. Twin scroll T4 with internal WG, that should be nice.

Picture of the EFR 6758, rated for up to 490hp. Compressor housing has a 2.5" inlet and 2" outlet.

I'd like better twin-scroll options with external wastegates. (manifolds, i mean)

There will always be a problem with space for twin external wg's.

Well we will see. They were going to try a TS dual Tial 38mm setup on my car about a year go but had to put it off since they didn't have the time.

Thanks Mike. I did some reading.

Very good concept. Lots of potential but some of the technologies they are throwing at that I am not quite convinced are ready for main stream.

Well that should really help since it allows the turbine wheel and compressor wheel to be much closer in weight. I think what he might be talking about is the internal 44mm size wg and internal BPV, which I think would very nice for the A4 1.8t.

    Twin scroll internal wg

We all know main stream loves new things. lol

Well the turbos have been tested already. But it isn't like the standard exhaust wheels dont get chewed up as it is, look at my exhaust wheel on my 570whp GT35r lol

Well I think it has to do with the design of the fins that help.

The fullback wheel hubs employ a full aerodynamic back-disk, meaning that the hubline extends all the way to the inlet tip. This feature allows for incredibly smooth (low energy loss) guidance of exhaust flow out of the housing and into the blade channels. Going one step further, the Superback shape adds a curved profile to the backdisk and effectively lowers centrifugal stresses - improving stability at elevated rotational speeds. Impossible in the past due to material stress limitations, the combination of Gamma-Ti and the exciting new .fullback/superback. design works in concert to allow best possible efficiency, high speed capability and durability.

Well it has started. Full-Race was able to take my car in a few weeks sooner then planned, so I dropped it off this weekend.

Here is the plan so far, they want to do 3 different manifolds.
T25 small ID runner manifold for the B1 frame
T4 Twin scroll small ID runner manifold for the B2 frame
T3 (single scroll) small ID runner manifold for the B2 frame (custom order)

    Cant wait to see them.

As for the concern about the TI-Gamma exhaust wheel.

Geoff says there is no reason to worry. BW has been testing it for a fewy years.
He did say that at room temp it is possible for it to break if you were to drop the turbo on the ground. But has yet to see one break while running on a car.

Do they offer a turbo that is around the size of a GT28? It would be sweet to see these on a B5 S4. Hell, I would love to have 2 turbos that flow like my GT2871Rs but spool faster and give me more room in my engine bay.

    Turbine wheel
    55mm
    Rated for 260-440hp each

So it is slightly larger than the GT28RS but still smaller than my GT2871Rs.

How do you think those would spool on the 1.4L per turbo?

Right now on my GT2871Rs I see 20psi at 4600rpm.

Haha. i want them. I dont think it would be worth the money and all the work to pull the motor, sell my GTs and than install the EFRs. I would need different manifolds too.

Yeah I know, but you can dream cant you

I saw a S4 owner post another forum saying he was running a BW journal bearing turbo that has the same type of housings as the newer EFR turbos. Just not sure if he meant that it was actually on his S4.

Too bad Garrett didn't do a GTX2871r when they came out with the new GTX30 and GTX35.

Well the BW extended tip turbos were already pretty good, the EFR is a step up from those seeing they have improved the compressor wheel and exhaust wheel.

I guess we will have to see after I am running the 83mm to compare to my old GT35r setup.
