Removing and cleaning inside headlight cover on B7 A4/S4

So my dealer wants to drop the motor to fix an oil leak (V8 rear timing chain cover). I was thinking they might need to remove the front bumper in the process. If so that's opportunity to get those headlight covers cleaned. Why? I have one brand new, one faded on the inside, so it looks different.

From what I can see the front grill / bumper cover needs to come off to get the headlights out. Once there the headlights should pop right out, no? Then there are clips that hold headlamp cover (the clear part) to headlamp body - is that it or is it glued together somehow?

Hi yes you can remove the headlights once the bumper is off. The headlight lenses are clipped on but also glued on, therefore you will need to carefully heat the casing equally all the way round the joint (using a heat gun) and carefully and slowly pull away. There will be melted goo that will come away as you separate the two parts, you will need to be real careful not to get any of this on the inside of the lights as it is very hard to get off and will damage the chroming on the plastic insides.
