I know I'm stoked, but not too excited about the 6 hour ride up. Anyone else done these mods? I'm a little anxious for the next couple weeks to come!
BTW if anyone is interested, Ill be up in Modesto in a couple weeks, taking pictures of the before and after of the carbon cleaning and some filming of me driving the quarter mile. Granted Im not the best driver, but whats nice about that is that I can see how much better I get with a faster car![]()

Hey everyone just dropped my RS4 off at JHM. Keaton was really helpful and gave me a ride to the BART so I can fly back to LA. I took a few videos of some runs on the highway on my way up, and will be doing the same thing on my way back down. My car will be in their hands for a week. As soon as I get a chance I'll post all my before and after videos. This is going to be fun...

So I just got the car back from JHM, and all I can say is wow. This honestly feels like a brand new car. Ill start from the beginning, so you can all realize the true level of professional service I dealt with during the entire process.
I have been to multiple shops around LA with my previous B6 S4 and was never fully satisfied with the service I had been receiving. So I waited until my RS was off warranty and decided to pull the trigger after doing my research. I wanted to get the work done at JHM though, since they develop all their products themselves I figured it was the best route to take. I drove up from LA, took me about 4.5 hours straight up the 5. I did a couple of runs, off the main highway of course, and you can see how slow the car felt in the video below. Sorry for the poor camera work, its from my Iphone.

So I dropped the car off and Keaton took me to the airport. Easy flight back. One week later my brother and I hop on a flight back up north and Dan picks me up from the train station, like 6 hours later due to the shitty weather in CA this past weekend. He was waiting for me for at least a couple hours, as my flight was late and sat on the runway, whatever. The shop is a good 45 mins from the train station, so the fact that Dan took time on his Saturday off to pick me up and show me all the new mods was quite a favor in itself. So now for the review of the parts themselves...
HOLY SHIT. I come from a family of cars, so this is not easy to say, but my RS4 is now one of the most smooth and solid performing sedans I have ever driven. Having driven a heavily modded S4 for 3 years, when I got my RS4 I never thought it was too much more of a rocketship than my S. Now, however, the car is completely different. Unfortunately, I did not do each of the mods individually, so I was unable to truly feel the difference that each one contributes individually. But as a whole, I am more than impressed and can say I am looking forward to keeping this car for another 50k miles.
Here is a list of what I got:
2.75" Cat-Less Downpipes
2.73" Resonated catback exhaust, dual oval tips
Intake Spacers
Lightweight rotors
Carbon Cleaning
ECU Tune
JHM Short Shifter
Silicone MAF Hose
I did not dyno the car, nor did I do any logs with. I will leave all the claimed numbers up to JHM's discretion to release on their own at this point. I can, however, attest that the RS4 is now a completely changed car. See for yourself in the video below:

From a butt dyno alone, I can say that the car is likely 80-100WHP faster than it was before I dropped it off at JHM. Dan said about 30WHP came from the carbon cleaning alone, and the rest from the DP and tune combination. He has done a bunch of logs with my car, and Im hoping to get those shortly so I can share the true numbers with you all. He also documented the whole carbon cleaning process and is going to send me pictures shortly, which Ill post as soon as I get as well. But for now, just wanted to share my excitement with you all.
The exhaust and tune, of course, are a perfect pair. The car climbs so effortlessly now through the entire RPM range, and stays that way no matter what gear you are in. Where the RS4 lacked lower range torque, as did the S, I feel it is abundant. Im stoked, thats all I can really say. I will follow up shortly with more details and pictures of everything, I promise. But for now hopefully the videos (as shitty as they are) will give you an idea of how happy I am with JHM and the work they did.
As a disclaimer - I am in no way affiliated with JHM. I read the forums and make educated decisions on my purchases, and that is all.
Thanks
Congrats! Glad to start to see some customers with the parts and the revolution continue!

Very cool. Congrats. I see your 's' mode was on after the mods. What, if anything does the tune do with it on? I would have guessed that the tune would be set to balls-out mode all the time, making the s buutton obsolete. (since the JHM exhaust is not valved, right?)
Go away, 'batin
Thanks for sharing your experience with us! Glad you are happy with your car.
