I`ve been contemplating this for some time but haven`t gotten round to actually doing it. I would like to know how many people are interested. I`m doing this for my own car so might as well help anyone that needs it too.
For those of you that have had manifold runner position sensors go bad or that have removed the fsi flaps and are no longer using the system there was no quick fix .
I`m going to make myself a module (with leads and oem connectors) that plugs into the 3 oem connectors (2 sensors and a valve) and fools the ecu into thinking there`s 2 sensors and a valve that work.
This would be useful for people that :
- have had one of the 3 electric parts fail (2 sensors that are not serviceable ,etka doesn`t give part numbers and one valve)
- have broken the actuator arms off the intake manifold (very brittle plastic)
- are using a different kind of intake system
- are no longer using fsi and have removed the intake flaps and axles
- have had manifold runner position errors ; quick fix is to remove the vacuum line and plug it and leave the runners in the open position.
Price would be in the range of dirt cheap .Probably the connectors are worth more than the circuitry.
