    im actually switching exhaust setups. testing the awe resonated(thanks to voltron), miltek res and non res(thank you john) and potentially an apr(thank you kiho) in the coming weeks. im thinking tho i will be happiest with miltek, we'll see if my theory holds true... more thoughts to come

    john from strat is sending me a res system and a set of the non res mufflers to test out so i guess we will see they're very interested in what the setup will sound like so they've been gracious enough to send me a system that a customer just parted out so it worked out really well. im almost positive tho that the miltek will do the trick for this setup

    Just curious, is there any drone related to this now?

    I'd be interested in what the B8 would sound like if just the resonator/cat was removed from the stock piping as in the piggie mod for B5/6/7's (I understand, with the motor pull it wouldn't make any sense to do that, I'm just saying that I'm curious how much the sound change and power difference is due to the headers or the removal of that resonator/cat) and if I remember correctly, you added a custom cat in the "downpipe" section, correct?

    this setup is resonated. its an early revision that hs smaller resonators but still resonated. the drone i believe is coming from the mufflers and has been pre header install. being so straight thru, the exhaust hits the back wall of the muffler and drones really hard, and with the headers opened up it amplified the drone. this setup is NO cats. i dont wanna run cats at all, what would be the point lol. truth be told(and i know im in the minority here) i think this car needs a LITTLE more back pressure so to my theory, the slightly smaller diameter of the miltek would be perfect to test the theory. a few tuners seem to agree with me tho so we will see. the Fast Intentions exhaust has two small resonators in the back and the mufflers. just about every other system on the market has two sets of resonators front and back, this motor has a VEEEERY obtrusive sound that unless you track the car or keep it a weekend car, makes it hard to drive every day with the setup i have now(i can live with it but my girlfriend dreads long drives now lol). also the fast intentions system has NO flex pipe which makes me a little nervous. being that it is now essentially one large solid exhaust piece, cracking is an issue, the miltek system also addresses this.

    Know that it takes ~500 miles to break in the APR, the sound changes a lot and pretty suddenly once the RSC channels fill with carbon per the design. Till then it wil have a higher, raspy sound like a porsche.

    Also, if you want some sort of back pressure, you won't get that with APR (as I am sure you know)

    I'm way ahead of u on that. I took that into account when looking for someone with an apr system to help me out. his exhaust is perfectly broken in by now. I didn't want to test any brand new systems for that reason
