Who makes those? I'm surprised their not equal length or designed to throw some more torque down low to help pep the V6 up. Anyhow, I'll really be looking forward to hearing a full write-up about these. Any timeline on when these will be going on?

if u read everything eurocode published so far about them, theyre as close to equal length that space would allow. the goal is to have them on by the end of the week and then off to a dyno on saturday

I'm not sure equal length is even that big of a deal. Its a V6 with a roots blower, not a cross-plane NA V8... The blower makes boost the whole RPM range so there is always a good pressure differential to drive cylinder filling so the little bit of negative pressure that scavenging could effect is pretty insignificant. They look like they should flow a lot better on the top end but I'm interested to see how big of a difference it makes with the blower on there. I could see the biggest advantages being a healthier motor since less heat hangs around, a way better sound, and better max hp potential down the road if you upgraded the blower.

Well in reality a flat plane 90* V8 and inline 4 are most sensitive to equal length. A crufix 90* V8 is mildly so, split crankpin V6 even less so. Not sure about common and split crank pin V10's, V12's and straight 6's.. I don't have time to do the math right now. Also unsure of 60* motors and boxster setups. Oh and W motors.

My biggest concern would be the collector. Richi, if you can source a boroscope could you get a snapshot of the collector area?

^A proper merge collector is worth a lot of power. Should have a long internal pyramid where the pipes meet. They look like handbuilt collectors, so it'd be nice to check if they have a good merge.

Can't wait to see the results. What are your expectations here? You going back to AWE for the dyno or do you have a baseline from somewhere else? How many billable hours would this install be?

I've been worried about going any farther with my car as I put about 18-20K a year on it and would like to get it to 80K before I dump it. Thoughts?

^Fuck it, get the parts that will make you enjoy it. Maybe with headers the 3.0 will finally start to sound a bit more meaty...

if I had a B8 S4, I'd get tune, exhaust, some kind of dowpipe mod (if possible) and LW wheels

oh and ditch that fucking plastic gauge surround

after that, it's a 340-350 whp mid 12 second car on pump gas...and that's pretty awesome for an AWD 4000lb daily driver.

Congrats again! If you could be so kind to get some good pics during the install I would appreciate it... Also, some pics of the stock equipment would be appreicated as well... Really looking forward to the results.... Man I hate winter!

ok so small update, the header install will start this monday. thats actually better for me, i have a dyno day this weekend with a few RS4 guys at ICS in CT, so ill have a good unbiased baseline and then go back the following weekend for the updated results. ill also chime in a little later this week on the cat pipe options for these headers for all you environmentally conscious folks out there lol

Well, they failed on a B6 S4 engine rebuild for a friend. He brought it in there, they rebuilt everything and the motor blew again after ~1K miles. Every time I've gone in there they've treated me like shit because I didn't have an STI or EVO. Al questioned me heavily about why I needed an APR flash for my car asking if I was going to be speeding and going pass the speed limiter. Not a great way to get business... Oh and they quoted me 550 bucks to install my magnaflow 14851 mufflers on my old 3.0. I just really don't like the environment they have going on over there, or the people that work there.

i will be running catless for now. they sent me bungs for the sensors that ill mount in the fast intention "downpipe" but seeing as how no cats WILL throw a code spacer or not, i might not even mount them and zip tie the secondaries off to the side till either apr makes this adjustment or i get the cats

So the deal here is that Eurocode hated the way the car sounded so they chose to add hfc as part of the equation? I thought you couldn't run hfc's with this setup as the Eurocode headers replaced both pieces.

Just so I'm clear, they are reworking the design to include a cat here?

^To my understanding Eurocode built a catted downpipe that would install between the catback and the headers (not in the headers).

    So stock setup you have:
Section 1: Cast exhaust manifolds w/ Primary O2
    Section 2: Cat pipe w/ cat/resonator
    Section 3: Downpipe
    Section 4: Catback

    A 034/APR setup would be:
Section 1: Cast exhaust manifolds w/ Primary O2
    Section 2: 034 Test pipe w/ no cat/HFC
    Section 3: Downpipes
    Section 4: Catback

A full Eurocode setup would be:
Section 1 + Section 2: Tubular Eurocode headers w/ Primary O2 after collector
    Section 3: Eurocode Catted/Resonated Downpipes
    Section 4: Catback
