Default So back from the dragstrip... boom...

So decided to hit the strip today... Complete mob seen as it was a make up for a huge renegade race... Only made 2 passes and left...

Car: 2010 Audi S4 - DSG with sports dif, 5,380 miles, 1/8 tank of gas, tools and spare removed

Mods: APR 100 octane tune, APR pulley, LFC's, miltek non-res exhaust, custom intake, APR CPS, front and rear sways, BBS CHR's

Conditions: 65F, 68% humidity, 30.48 BP.... DA was 1,450+ So not optimal but decent... didn't get a lot of cooldown time... oil temp was 193F...

    1.6775 60 ft (new best)
    4.9875 330 ft (new best)
    7.6939 1/8 ET (new best)
    90.83 1/8 MPH
10.0202 1000 ft ET (new best)
    11.9772 1/4 ET (new best)
    115.59 1/4 MPH

BOOM! 11 second pass! Pretty stoked How about that 60 foot time... Who the f*** needs launch control? LOL Happiest about the 60 that's for sure... Keep in mind I am launching off idle! Who the f*** needs a 6-speed? MPH was a little dissappointing... Didn't get another run for like 1.5 hours and it was in the mid 70's by then... Will head back in the AM as it is supposed to be a little cooler and I am going to get there a little earlier and go for a longer cool down... No external video but I am hoping my brother can go Sunday... I'll post the Gopro here shortly just need to download and host... I also have the logs from the run if anyone is interested and I'll see if I can post them some how... Actually, bypassed boost for part of the run... not sure why will talk with APR about that...

    Questions/comments/thoughts....

Oh thanks to everyone for their support over the last year... Now I want to get a mid 11 and it will happen... Oh and if someone would be kind enough to post on AZ I would appreciate it... later Ron

So are you running the standard APR coolant system or have you modified that?

Solid work though, congrats on being the first V6T in the 11's (from what I gather?).

Also if you want help posting the logs email them to beemercer@gmail.com and I'll see what I can do (I'd like to look through the logs regardless, I do a lot of V8 logs and I'd be interested in looking into the V6T as well).

Just shoot you an email... let me know what you think... Boost levels are nice but not sure why the car is dumping... that has to have hurt the trap...

Thanks! Yeah the DSG is pretty impressive... Given I am launching off idle it would be crazy to see a LC launch... this blower makes nice tq down low The shifts at WOT are flawless... the tranny has it's issues at some points but not drag racing... there is no way a 6-speed car can compete...

Thanks! I am really happy with the short time ability of this car... little older now but won't lose many stoplight races in this car... It flat out goes from a dig... A 1.6x 60ft time is pretty crazy actually...

Jay, I wasn't knocking a 6-speed as my other cars are manual... Also, never claimed to be "talented", just sharing my experience, sorry if that bothers you? Also, just stating the fact that the DSG's are more consistent, faster shifting, and overall better for drag racing... Do you disagree? Not trying to offend anyone... Also, not sure if you own a B8 S4 but from what I have been told the clutch is very very weak and there is no upgrade from the aftermarket at this point... Thanks for the feedback though...

Great stuff, primetime. The 11's is no mean feat. And being the first B8 - that's epic, nice work! On what other platforms do you claim this title?

Don't he was bigging up his talent as a driver, more that he loves his car and can't believe how consistently fast it is. IMHO DSG is the better gearbox for pure speed. I don't think the average driver can shift 6MT as fast as the DSG. For my driving, I just prefer a manual day to day.

BTW does the DSG get a reprogram as well?

Thanks! In 1999 Ford went to a new 2V motor in the GT's called PI(performance improved) heads was the real change.... I got my 99 GT and had a Vortech SQ installed and ran the number in late Oct./early Nov. of 1999...

Is that the supercharger whine? Or the sport differential? It sounds good.

It's the blower mostly because of the intake I run which is basically a custom version of the strat. one... yes, I love the sound reminds me of 03/04 Cobras or the Lightnings...

are you in manual mode or simply in D when you run? When I ran the 100oct file a few months ago and forgot to put it in M, there were some severe delays between shifts. I am wondering since I got one of the pre-release EMCS ecu's if I have an older 100oct file?

Also the 4000rpm launch in the 2011's definitely slows down the 60ft times.

I always run at the strip in "D" with ASR/ESP off... I let the car shift itself at redline... I have had the 100 file since it has been released and the only time I got the update(twice) was for the pulley... Still haven't sent it in for EMCS... I think the 2011's have the short shifting issue and some of the 10's have the hangup shift which my car will very rarely exhibt in manual mode on the street but almost never in D at the track... I agree with you, the Audi version of LC doesn't work so great... Now if HPA comes out with LC that might be different... hoping to cut a lower 1.6x 60 this Sat. if it doesn't rain and run deeper into the 11's... then some more things before the end of the season! muhahhahahaha
