Don't knock the new VW's, starting at $15,9 for a 2011, i'm so down! Talking the parent's into getting one for a daily driver.

From you're parents POV, understandable, the new jetta is a commuter's car. But the car, IMO, takes a step backwards in innovation and design.

I have to agree with this guy, they are cutting quality for a price point. I'd rather have quality personally.

Selling cars is a business. You do what you have to, to make money.

I was just saying, I see their reasoning for cutting quality. and If I were them I'd be doing the same thing.

Cause most people in the world, aren't like us who would be willing to pay that little extra for a few features. General Population wants a car that's cheap.

ok, gotcha, I had a feeling that's where you were going with it. Apparently the general population doesn't want any car... I read somewhere a while ago that a poll of teenagers/young adults have no desire to own a car, i'd be lost without mine.

The jetta seems to be VWs answer to the Camry, and well stacking them up together, it sure hell is with the base msrp. The jetta is okay, but anyone see the new Eos? Holy shiz talk about a doofying looking car lol
It pretty obvious that the new Jetta is different from the rest because previously the Jetta/Golf/Rabbit/GTI/GLI all shared the same platform, in this case the Jetta is in a platform of its own.

Our second car is a Mk6 GTI. The missus chose it over any sort of SUV or minivan. We also test drove a 2008 3.2L TT and the GTI was waaaay more fun to drive. When I first moved to Canada a year ago, my dilemma was S4 or GTI. Now I don't have to choose.

Me too. I think our GLIs are identical (or at least were identical stock).
