Default would like to hear some b6/b7 s4 exhausts

hey guys, anybody in the denver, boulder, fort collins, greeley, hell even colorado springs or mountain areas with a b6/b7 s4 and exhaust, i'll go anywhere

i'm mostly looking to hear fast intentions cat back and downpipes in 2.5 resonated (with varying resonator lengths), and non res...i seem to be sold on this set up, but can't decide between res and non res (they have a good reputation, and so does jhm)

i'd like to do dp's and catback, don't want to do piggies, and don't want to neck down a catback for stock dp's only to have to "fix" it later when i go the dp route, headers are not an option financially right now, but i would love to hear them if annnnnnybody in denver even has a set

however, i'd like to hear any brand s4 exhausts to better help me make my decision to purchase one, maybe buying some mufflers and having a shop put together a custom exhaust would be a cheaper and better route, i dunno, i know there are plenty of sound clips and you tube videos, but nothing beats the in person comparison rather than trying to account for varying sound qualities and such between different videos

I'd wager that i'm the only person in the state of Colorado right now sporting the Corsa B7 exhaust and piggied downpipes. The corsa is rare, but many people on the forums argue that it and the FI exhausts are a toss-up for best sound. The corsa is also a 2.5"

I am however in Vail, but if you find yourself skiing hit me up and i'll show you what a real 4.2 german V8 sounds like.

Corsa is my favorite sounding personally via internet videos (so take it for what it is, as an opinion), but do corsa even sell them anymore. I thought that ECS had some back stock but that was it. I've never really seen a good picture of the layout and x-pipe to see how it compare performance wise to the F.I.

Either way, personally I say nonres with piggies or catless all day. I just feel like if I had a resonated setup it wouldn't take long for me to say, "damn, why didn't I get the nonres version again?"

i'm open to this corsa suggestion and would certainly let you know if i'm up towards vail for boarding adventures soon, please pm me with your phone number if you don't mind, did corsa make a b6 option?

i guess my biggest concern non res is things getting raspy, i've heard videos where it seems over the top disgusting, and i've heard some where non res sounds perfect for my taste, that's where it could just be the sound quality fooling my ears, i am learning towards non res, but want to be sure before i drop the money on a system

as for piggie discussion, i know i can read allll the millions of exhaust threads out there, i understand that quite a bit of power (relative to exhaust) can be found from stock dp to piggie, but isn't there a decent amount of power left to be harnessed from a new dp, rather than just a piggie, or does a piggie do pretty well..i guess what i'm asking is would the fi dp's be worth the money, or are piggies sufficient

    Do you need cats?

My S4's system was my favorite 4.2 I've heard, gutted milltek downpipes that still retained the open cat chamber.. v-band.. 2.5" 304 custom X-pipe designed with help from Rousch (there are a few guys with this piece).. 304 2.5" straight back to 2.5" opened up Milltek S4 mufflers. So imho it was the nastiest Milltek S4 exhaust there was, 2.5" all the way back no cats with an X-pipe. The non-res did make it very raucous and raspy.

My A6 4.2 has JHM headers... v-band... catless intermediate pipes.. slip fit.. same custom x-pipe.. vibrant 16" resonators.. Magnaflow mufflers.. 3" turndowns. It definitely has a much deeper tone than the S4 and is a bit cleaner, still very unique though.

So basically I'd recommend catless, resonated and Magnaflow. You'll get the power but keep the clean deep tone.

Just came across this....I'm in Boulder, if you want to hear a loud, badass exhaust I have a custom setup I bought from a member on here that moved away from the platform. It's piggies, and no cats 2.5" flowmaster mufflers with 4" magnaflow tips. I own a beer bar here, Backcountry Pizza and Taphouse at 2319 Arapahoe ave, if you're in town and my blue avant is there I'll take ya for a spin.
