Default Royal Flush Rallies: Rally for Wishes- Charity Poker Run - June 21, 2008

    Rally for Wishes
    Date: June 21, 2008
    Beneficiary: Make a Wish Foundation
    Amount Raised: $2000+
    Number of Participants: 50+

The Rally for Wishes was the first charity event hosted by RFR. It took place on June 21, 2008 with high hopes of being a success. Thanks to all of the participants it was indeed a huge success as we raised over 2k for the Make a Wish Foundation. Enthusiasts from all over the Tri-State came out to participate in our sprint down to the NJ Shore. Starting at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall, the Rally for Wishes took drivers on a fun-filled journey to Tom's River on roads such as I-80, I-280, and the NJ Turnpike.

The rally ended a little over 90 miles later at Basil T's Brew Pub & Italian restaurant. Here participants got to relax and reminisce over lunch and drinks about the day’s events. After a long and fun-filled day the rally came to an end and everyone headed home. The smiles on everyone’s faces along with the feeling of contributing to a good cause were enough to establish annual events for RFR.

Thank you to all who participated and contributed in the Rally for Wishes. Without your support and dedication our goals could not be achieved. It is each and every one of you who are responsible for making these charity events a true success! We hope you had a good time and look forward to seeing you at future events!

    The Poker Run

On June 21st we will kick off the first Royal Flush Annual Charity Poker Run (Rain date: June 22nd). Car enthusiasts alike will organize for the purpose of raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation along with a fun filled day of cruising and meeting new new people.

Heres how the Poker Run works...

There will be five predetermined destination points during the course of the run. At each stop you will receive a poker card along with directions to the next rally point. The best five card hand at the end of the event wins. Cash Prizes/Gifts will be given away to the top three hands of the day. Co-Pilots are recommended! Mileage and Toll Amounts for each destination will be listed on your direction sheets.

Why are we hosting this event? Last year we participated in Keith's Charity Poker Run for the first time. The success of the event and the underlying purpose has motivated us to host our own event. It is our goal to spread the gift of charity and to offer car enthusiasts the chance to partake in a fun filled event.

The route will not be disclosed until the day of the event, although plan for an end location in Toms River. The final destination will be an Italian restaurant for lunch (donation does not include lunch). Most items on the lunch menu are under $10 dollars. Here we will determine the winners of the Poker Run as well as announce the grand total of donations. The total distance to our final location will be 91 miles. Total Toll Amount is under $5.00.

This event is open to ALL SPORTS CAR MODELS AND BIKES!! A wide variety of makes and models will be represented from BMW to Audi to exotics such as Porsche and Ferrari!! Don't miss the opportunity to see and drive with your favorite sports cars on the road!!
