EVOLUTION IMPORT INC
Turns out I was using the 40. Neil Got me sorted out.
Thanks guys.
Mine is currently off the car (had to take it off for Dyno day) but I picked up two new bolts at home depot and some nuts to use as spacers since I lost one spacer (now i noticed that it was a mistake in a way) but i'll see if i can make it work. If i get some free-time I'll be picking up the car again to try and get one of the rivet nuts tightened down more and re-threaded.

I've been given permission from Neil at Evolution Imports to cross-link the following:
For those of you who missed out on this group buy but don't want to pay the full retail price of $249, I found an authorized distributor of the Evolution Thor skid plate located in Oregon called Bora Parts, Inc. They offer it for $238, ENJOY!![]()
Winter in my part of Wisconsin is a dangerous time so I was glad to see the Thor plate at such a discounted price. I have had it on for better than a month now with a few notable tests: Ice chunks are constant obstacle of which I have hit a few. It’s rather impressive to hear them crunch underneath you and see the smashed snow on the road, with the knowledge that there was no harm to your car. The other large danger WI drivers face is the white tail deer; granted you can never find them during hunting season, they seem to be behind every tree, hill, and bend in the road while driving. The one I hit, or rather what was left of it (mainly torso, shoulders and hips seemed to be intact) was sitting squarely in my lane just over one of those hills, with a car next to me I was doomed to hit it. A loud, sickening “thunk” and enough of a shutter to make me check mirror to see if anything had come off proved that it was pretty solid. A quick inspection showed no dents, no scratches, just a bit of fur. The Thor plate comes highly recommended by me.
ill admit mine has been off the car for a while due to all the shit ive been checking and doing under the car, but its going back on soon since Im running out of things to check lol.
need to order the spacers first.

Man, I wish this GB got cross referanced onto other forum boards. Just ordered mine couple min ago and it came out to $280 after shipping. Wish I knew about this thread before.
For those that ordered, I guess you guys already know you saved a good $75 on this GB (after shipping is onvolved).
Edit: Looks like I need to stick around here some more![]()

Damnit, I just stripped one of the rivet nuts inside the subframe, argh!!!
Actualy may not be stripped, but one of the rivets is loose in the hole and doesn't fully seat against the subframe, I can put a bolt in there and it stays, hmmmmm any ideas?

I don't think there's any one left here without one! However, do get one, had the car on a lift the other day and had to admire it from below. It's taken a beating over the winter, that's for sure.
Probably going to get a handfull of people here that didn't get on GB in time, but mostly would have to source them out from other forums and spread the word. Also, might want to get in touch with Stokes(kristokes) and see if he could arrange/negotiate second GB with Neil.

Turbo Lag = The amount of time the competition can see you laughing before you spool up and pass them
Contacting vendors and need people to speak up and spread the word.
Who is 100% in for a group buy if we can get price knocked down to at least 15% off?
Spoke with Evolution Imports, they're still in the process of moving facilities and they can't do a group buy until the new place is 100% setup. Which could be months.
Bora Parts is willing to do a group buy for any of the evolution skid plates, but the discount isn't going to be as much as the original since they're a distributor. I'm currently awaiting word on what kind of discount to expect if we can get a minimum of 20 people.
yea bacon let me know what kinda price we would be getting. my old oil pan took a beating with out one and with the new motor def can't risk anyhting. i do plan on riding higher this year though

They currently sell the Thor skidplate for $259 with free shipping in the US and Canada.
No matter what the discount is, I'm getting one. Anything I get off the price is just icing on the cake.
If you're thinking about getting a skid plate, wait.
if only someone showed interest on the B6 Passat/CC
