Default Stainless Steel Lug Bolt Guide Tools (Wheel Hangers) from Reverse Logic

Reverse Logic Limited offers two grades of lug bolt guide tools. The aluminum series of tools are ideal for occasional and emergency use. Most European car owners with OEM hub-centered wheels will get many years of service from the anodized aluminum tools. The stainless steel professional series are heavy duty tools which can stand up to the rigors of daily use. The added strength of the stainless steel tool is especially useful for lug-centered aftermarket wheels where the full weight of the wheel and tire are supported by the lug bolt guide tool until the lug bolts are installed.

The lug bolt guide tools are available in M12x1.5, M14x1.5 and M14x1.25 thread sizes. Consult the tables at the Lug Bolt Guide Tools page of our website for the proper size tool for many popular European vehicles.

The stainless steel tools currently outsell the aluminum tools by a ratio of 2:1. So, we will probably discontinue the aluminum tools sometime in 2012. The stainless steel tools are $15.95 including shipping to any destination in the USA or Canada. We charge a flat $6.00 shipping for International orders regardless of quantity.

Is that because of the weight of the rotors?

Our tools are made from 303 Stainless Steel. That's a machinable grade. It's not as "stainless" as 304 or 316 which means it's not for marine use. The knurl is inset from the end unlike some other tools where the knurl goes to the tip of the tool. The smaller diameter on the outer end makes it easier to find the hole in the wheel when mounting it.

The knurl is not too coarse and is not as abrasive as the studs on a car with studs. Since the 303 Stainless Steel is machinable, it's relatively easy to take the edge off the knurl with a small (1/2" wide) mill file, if you prefer a little smoother finish. Just slowly rotate the tool while you lightly pass the file over the knurl.
