What an Idiot, I don't really see G-wagon's as good offroad cars, so why go somewhere like that?

I've heard the exact opposite
They are supposed to be extremely good off roaders. They were originally going to end production of the car a while back, but there was an "An outcry among enthusiasts who admired the G-Class for its tremendous off-road potential showed that a market still existed for such a vehicle."

I think the term good off roader is pretty relative. I mean obviously not alot of cars would be good in the situation in the video, but as far as the money goes, for half of the price of a G wagon, you could get a land rover defender, which IMO is a more rugged and a better off roader. Ask me how I know

I agree with you about the Defender. I guess we all have our own interpretations of what "good off roader" means.

For even cheaper than that you could get a wrangler, throw on some 37" mudders with a 6" lift and be set. But defenders look sickerrrrrr. I saw one today with 3 hella fogs up front, you gotta get those!

Haha those are sick, but I think were trying to keep the defender as OEM as possible. It's a '97 with only 56K miles, and did some major work on it a couple of years ago.

My friend who just got his license got his mommys g wagon for his first car... hahaha but I doubt he's going to be doing anything like that! His is also murdered out, all black everything, limo tints (no reason why, he lives in a really rich area...) and 22s.

that G did not look like it was equiped with mud tires either. Once the car was stuck on the mud there was no way those road tires would do anything. Eitherway Mercedes and Offroad do not seem to mix. Leave the offroad to the americans (Jeep)! I must say i do like the G wagon though!

Wow. First off i wouldn't take a car that cost that much anywhere off the road, let alone a pit of mud like that. 2nd, i agree with John... It doesnt look like the car even had mud tires to be doing something like that.

I used to drive an Xterra with off road MT tires and i have to say they made huge difference when off roading. I kinda miss that, i went from one extreme to another a lifted Xterra to a lowered/slammed A4. I love speed more though.....

well i see where ur coming from but remember most g's we see and the one in this is a more civilized version. It has street tires, long wheelbase which most offroad enthusiasts do not use, and i doubt he was using diff locks. The rugged version of the g or the original is far from the new civilized on road versions.
